Teamspeak server

Our guild has their own private Teamspeak server, you can find both the server url and anonymous login password in the guild information.

WHEN SHOULD YOU USE TEAMSPEAK
When going on raids, tactics and instructions are passed on through TS. The built-in WoW chat simply doesn't cut the deal. You don't have to talk on TS, and during boss battles you better not talk at all, except when you're the raid leader. It's meant as an instant communication tool during raids.
Also, we hear a lot of people going on about: but I know this raid and its bosses already, I don't need teamspeak. People who have been on higher lvl raids should know better than anyone else that tactics aren't the only thing being said on TS, the raid leader will also announce strategy changes during a boss fight.
To put it simple and clear for everyone wanting to participate in raids: NO TEAMSPEAK = NO RAID, no exceptions.
Apart from raid voice chat, TS can also be used to just talk to your fellow guildies. Our guild is a social guild above all, and you can socialize on TS just like you can on guild chat.

General annoyances

• Audio feedback by placing normal speakers next to the microphone (possibly combined with number two in this list). This is the most annoying thing ever on TS: hearing yourself echo forever cos someone's speakers are close the mic. If you want to talk on TS, please get a headset. They come so cheap nowadays it shouldn't be a problem even for our poor student guildies to get one. Just keep on nagging to the parents until you get one.
  
• Voice activation treshold set to "on". Please use Push to Talk so we don't have to hear the weird noises your body makes.
  
• Microphone level set too low. There are settings both in your operating system and in TS as far as I know to increase the volume of the microphone. Make sure that if you speak, your volume is about the same level as other people on TS. No one likes to become deaf cos they turn the volume up for just one silent speaker on the channel.
  

WHY TEAMSPEAK AND NOT VENTRILO
After having both tested Ventrilo and TS, I chose TS for a number of reasons:

• As weird as it may sound to some of you, some of our guildies use a Mac, including myself. Ventrilo's Mac support is crap, and that's actually an understatement. TS has a Mac client that does the job perfectly.
  
• The quality-bandwidth ratio of TS is better than Ventrilo's. As you may have noticed, our TS channels offer great quality.
  
• Our TS server runs on a dedicated server with an internet backbone connection, meaning all the usual bull that's being said about TS lagging is simply not true, even with several raids in different channels at the same time. Both Ventrilo and TS fall flat on their face if run on a home broadband connection sooner or later anyway.
  
• The Ventrilo interface basically sucks, it's about the worst interface i have ever seen in my entire life as an application developer.
  
• Last but not least, we use TS because I say so
  

ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
Our TS server can only be used by Blood Brother members, whether they are logged into the game or not. You can use it to meet up with your fellow guildies, just have a nice conversation in the appropriate General Chat channel and for instances and raids.
A few exceptions may be granted, ask Bealzebub's permission if you want to use it to talk to friends outside of the guild. By default, you CANNOT USE the TS server for your own purposes, unless granted explicit permission by Beal.
Just like guild chat, TS should be a nice and friendly place, people that flame other guildies not only get banned from TS, but also kicked from the guild.
If I ever discover anyone violating these simple and obvious rules (e.g. I hear ppl shooting each other virtually on one of the channels), they get banned from TS and possibly kicked from the guild.

i have also both tested Ventrilo and Teamspeak, for me ventrilo works perfect while TS just keeps being laggy and the sound is bad, i can't even recognize my own boyfriends voice on ts.
just wanted to say this tho i won't get online on ts just for chitchatting becuse it's works so bad for me, and i'm really sorry for that becuse i love hanging around and talking with people
and it's not my computor, works as bad for bleek also and many more i know, settings are fine but still ts feels bad

but i can stand raid with it, and it's good that someone is having an server up doing the raiding much easier, good work.
